What is Biomethane?

Bio-CNG, (or compressed biomethane) differs from fossil-derived CNG/LNG (Liquified Natural Gas) as it is typically sourced from waste products such as food, animal & wastewater. CNG Fuels supplies only 100% sustainable and renewable Bio-CNG at its stations.

Using CNG to Fuel Transport

Bio-CNG offers a cheaper, cleaner, and quieter alternative to running an HGV fleet compared to conventional diesel. Modern engines deliver ranges of over 500 miles with minimal efficiency loss, ensuring performance without compromise.

Low Costs, High Availablity

The fuel duty in the UK for natural gas has been fixed by regulation at 22.57p/kg (approx 18.6p/ltr of diesel) until 2032, compared to diesel at 57.95p/ltr.

Renewable & Clean

Fossil based CNG reduces CO₂ emissions by 29% compared to diesel, whereas Bio-CNG reduces these emissions by as much as 90%.
